What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup involves applying color pigments to the skin with a sterile needle. The color is individually tailored to the individual's skin, hair, and eye color. The pigment remains in the skin for approximately one to two years, depending on skin type and age.

A tattoo is drilled into the skin and applied very deeply. Permanent makeup is vibrated into the skin and placed less deeply, in the upper layer of the dermis. This allows the eyebrow color to "grow"/fade with the color of our hair, eyes, and skin, which naturally lighten over time. This allows for eyebrow color adjustment over time.

On younger skin, PMU lasts a little less long because young skin is generally oilier and regenerates quickly. Excessive tanning or heavy exposure to UV light also causes PMU to fade faster. UV light is the biggest culprit for fading permanent makeup. Therefore, always use an SPF factor with your PMU to prolong the result. Older skin also regenerates less quickly; therefore, PMU lasts longer.

Permanent make-up removal, €95 per session
Do you want to partially or completely remove permanent makeup? This can be done safely and effectively with the Picosecond laser. High light intensity breaks down the PMU pigments and eliminates them from the body. Typically, 3-9 treatments are needed for optimal results. At least 6 weeks should elapse between treatments to allow the skin sufficient time to eliminate the pigment and recover. There are situations, or contraindications, in which we will not treat you. Your safety is our top priority. You can find these contraindications at the bottom of this page.

The permanent make-up treatment.

- Declaration of health
Before treatment, you must always complete a health declaration with us. We will not perform any treatments without this declaration. There are contraindications, situations in which we will not perform PMU; you can find these under the heading "Contraindications."

- Signs
After you've completed the form, we'll discuss your wishes and expectations. What are you looking for? What are you used to drawing? How dark do you normally keep your eyebrows?

After discussing your wishes, we'll begin by drawing your eyebrows. We'll carefully measure your eyebrows until we both agree on the shape.

- Determine color
After this, we'll also decide on the color together. We usually have two or three colors that could be a good match. We'll first apply these to your forehead with a cotton swab to see how the color looks. A color always looks different in the bottle than it does on the skin. The color can also look slightly different on different skin types.

Next, we begin the actual application. The ombre brow or eyeliner is now actually applied.

  • No caffeine (coffee, tea, cola, Red Bull or other energy drinks) on the day of treatment
  • No sun/sunbed use within 2 weeks before treatment
  • Do not take blood-thinning medications 24 hours prior to treatment (in consultation with your doctor)
  • Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen or naproxen 24 hours prior to treatment
  • 2 paracetamol may be taken immediately before the treatment
  • Do not take vitamin E (or multivitamins) 24 hours prior to treatment
  • Do not use corticosteroid cream or ointment on the spot prior to pigmentation

Permanent make-up aftercare
After applying eyebrows or eyeliner, you must adhere to strict aftercare, which is important for the final result.

The pigmentation has a beautiful shape and a beautiful color, but it's also a minor abrasion. Like any other abrasion, it heals fastest in the open air. Water, cream, or other substances will slow the healing process and diminish the final result.

The following factors are of great importance:

  • Keep the pigmentation dry for 48 hours, so do not cleanse!
  • Do not apply makeup to the area where the pigmentation was applied for 7 days.
  • After two days, apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the skin morning and evening (using a cotton swab, never with bare hands).
  • Only use Vaseline provided by the practitioner, it is essential that it is clean and hygienic
  • Do not scratch or pick at the treated skin
  • Touch the skin as little as possible
  • Do not cover the treated areas with plasters or bandages
  • Avoid swimming pools, saunas, and steam baths for the first week
  • Do not expose the treated skin to a sunbed or sunlight.

The treated skin may still feel sensitive after healing. Therefore, it's advisable to protect your permanent makeup with a sunscreen, especially in summer.

Are there any imperfections visible after an annual or biannual touch-up? Please report this no later than six weeks after the treatment. If you wait longer than six weeks, we unfortunately cannot offer a courtesy treatment.

Normal healing process
Day 2-4 – Eyebrows may become thicker and darker, this is normal
Day 4-6 – Eyebrows may change shape or flake, this is normal
Day 6-8 – The pigmentation can quickly diminish, making it appear as if the permanent make-up is no longer present. This is a normal skin reaction.
Days 8-14: Color returns. Any bald spots will be filled in during the follow-up treatment (after 4-6 weeks).

Don't worry if your healing process differs from what's described above. This varies from person to person. Only contact us if your healing process deviates significantly from what's described above.
